In-House Reproductive Services
Stud fee is due in cash at time of first breeding after contract is reviewed and signed by both parties. We require a brucellosis screen for all females prior to mating to ensure all females are clear of this very infectious STD. Our studs are routinely tested for brucellosis and all presently negative. You can have your own vet do this and provide the results to us prior to first breeding or alternatively we offer in house brucellosis testing with results in 20 minutes and can perform first breeding directly after for those that do not have a vet who can perform this for a reasonable price and/or vets who cannot get results back in a timely manner as many send out and it can take up to a week for results to be obtained. Our rapid in house brucellosis tests require 1 blood draw and 10 minute results and are offered for a flat $80. This service is normally around $150-$250 at most vets.
Timing is of upmost importance for sucessful conception and adequately sized litters. Breeding too early or too late and you may miss completely or have a very small litter. We require progesterone to be done on females leading up to breeding to pinpoint ovulation so we can ensure to breed during most fertile window. We want all our clients to have the best outcomes possible with large healthy litters and progesterone testing ensures this. The rate of sucess is over 95% with progesterone testing. We have our own in-house rapid result progesterone machine and offer this service to our studding clients that may not have a vet who performs this or cannot give same day results (which can sometimes mean missing a breeding) This service is provided at a flat rate of $90 per draw to cover our processing supplies and progesterone machine blood serum cartridges. Vets range from about $120-250 for same day in house progesterone results and many don’t offer it at all.
Lastly, we own our own ultrasound and offer a followup ultrasound to establish if pregnancy took at around 32 days post initial breeding. We charge $80, please bring a bottle of aloe gel for ultrasound lubricant. We may need to shave stomach for better viewing of gestational sacs. Preferable if you get this done beforehand for time’s sake but I can shave if needed.
We have a live puppy guarantee on all stud services and offer a 100% free rebreed on next heat if no puppies are produced as long as above terms are followed.
We do occasionally offer boarding options for our out of town studding clients so they don’t have to drive the female back and forth for multiple days at a very reasonable rate of $35 per day. ONLY offered for well behaved and non aggressive (moody cycler) girls. I have kids and that love to interact, snuggle and play with any girls we board so its important to me all dogs in my home are kid safe 👍
